A winner, the last giveaway of 2017 and the first of lots of little balls of yarn

It's December already! How has that happened? It doesn't seem five minutes since the start of term in September. And pretty soon, people will be counting down to 2018. But the start of December means that it's time to pick a winner for my November Pay it Forward giveaway. If you can remember, the prize was some super-festive jingle bell stitch markers from Fripperies & Bibelots. The random number generator picked post 1, Jo from Through the Keyhole, so I'll be getting in touch with you soon. If you weren't lucky, check out the Christmas shop on the F&B website as Sarah still has a few festive offerings available.

December's giveaway is the final giveaway in my year of paying forward all the kindness I've received from yarny folk far and wide following Mr JK's death and I hope that you'll agree that it's pretty special! There's a notions case made by my own fair hands, two cakes of Freia handpainted sport weight yarn and a very cute Flo stitch marker. These stitch markers were made especially for me by Sarah at Fripperies & Bibelots and I only have a couple left.

To be in with a chance of winning, you need to leave a comment on my blog telling me what's top of your woolly Christmas list this year. The giveaway will stay open until midnight on December 31st and I'll use the random number generator to pick a winner after that. Please make sure that it's easy for me to get in touch with you by leaving your Ravelry or Instagram name or some other way for me to contact you should you be the winner. If I haven't heard from the winner after a week, I'll pick another one. The giveaway is open world-wide so please do enter.

I have three balls from my Opal Advent calendar (we won't mention the fact that last year's haven't all be used yet, shhhhhhhh!) and it is a bit of fun each morning to see what little treasure lies behind the door.

This year's calendar is a book. It takes up a bit less space than last year's massive cube!

I've made myself some bunting which is hanging up in the hall and the rustic bunting I sewed last year is festooned across the fireplace. That's about as festive as I've got so far.

And through all the decorating, Flo remained distinctly unimpressed! Have a great week and do enter the giveaway! Good luck one and all! xxx

I have that advent calendar too! It's such fun isn't it? I'll think of you when I open tomorrow's door. On my yarny wishlist are a couple of knitting pattern books and some Hedgehog Fibres sock yarn. I love the Flo stitch marker; I bet she's very proud! xx

At the top of my yarny list is a healthy hand so I can use all the yarn I have accumulated. I have so many plans and ideas so maybe I should want to be able to bend time so I have more of it. The idea of realistic goals has been crossed off my to-do list. My Ravelry name is weavinfool.

I’ve got the Tunisian Crochet Workshop Complete Guide by Michelle Robinson at the top of my list! I’ve never tried Tunisian crochet before but it looks like fun and a great new technique to try! I’m @knitteddaydreams on Instagram!

Top of my y[arny list for Christmas is Attic24's Woodland colour pack. I'm from New Zealand and Summer has begun this week with blue sunny skies and sweltering heat. Still loving those Autumn colours though! Wishing you an easy run up to Christmas

Quite happy to spend the festive season under our British wool duvet if that counts, Flo is welcome to join me. Otherwise I do have dreams of knitting a wonderful big cable sweater for myself, having checked and found more than a dozen pairs of socks in the gift department here. I won't ever stop knitting socks but I must slow down the production for a while.

Awww, Flo looks so comfy and I love that little Flo stitch marker, that's so lovely. You're further on with the Christmas decorating than I am, I was hoping to get the tree up yesterday but that didn't happen, never mind, it'll get done eventually. I'm hoping for some Knit Pro Zing interchangeable needles for Christmas, and I've given Mick a list of yarn dyers too so I'm hoping he manages to hit some of their updates on Etsy. I'm so excited about winning the giveaway, thank you so much, I'll get an email off to you straight away.

Top of my yarny wish list is to find and begin knitting a jumper for myself. I haven't knitted anything for me for years: been too preoccupied knitting baby stuff, accessories, toys and socks. But now I fancy doing something adventurous, like trying a top-down seamless all-in-one creation just for me. So all I'm asking for is some peace and quiet time to achieve this!
Well done on all your "pay it forward" giveaways: I hope they have brought you as much pleasure as they have to all your lucky giftees. May you and Flo have a lovely cosy Christmas, x

Slipper socks are top of my knitting list this year, 6 pairs down 5 more to go. Then I may have to make a pair for myself, luckily they fly off the needles.

That is such a cute stitch marker! Flo is super adorable.

Top of my yarn wish list? Besides the gifts I'm making and a few requests, what I want to make is a new hat for me. My old hat is literally a decade old, and I mean to knit a new one every winter but always get snowed under or distracted with making things for other people...

My woolly Christmas wish is to start a pair of socks. I will have knitted three jumpers this year (assuming I sew up the latest one in time) but have always been daunted by dpns and socks. Maybe 2018 will be The Year.... My ravelry name is kirstenisabella

I’m just wishing for more time to sit and knit! The baby is adorable, but she does cut into my crafting time. :)

I'm hoping for the yarn to complete the new Eastern Jewels colourway of the Persian Tiles blanket.....have dropped some not very subtle hints when asked is there anything I would like!!

Love your Christmas mantle place bunting, I made a row of mini-socks from Christmassy fabric a few years back and hang them over our fireplace.

I'd love a set of the Lykke interchangeable needles. They're so pretty, and everyone who has them seems to love them.

At the top of my list is a case for my DPNs - I have hinted at a lovely brocade Hiyahiya one. At the moment my DPNs live in a pencil case, with each set bundled together with a band - it is not easy to find the correct set! Ravelry ID: Trishrapleygiles.

Hi!!
I am knitting as fast as I can to finish a jumper I started time ago and show it off for Christmas!!
...then I have a blanket to complete (crochet). I am also planning to knit another jumper and one for my boyfriend, learn how to knit socks, how to knit in the round, how to knit Fair Isle ......I believe I won't have the time for all of these, but I will give it a try!! :)

LOL, I keep rearranging my XMas knitting, but what's currently on top is a watchcap for my brother-in-law. His wife is a knitter and made him a hat, which came out too big, so she gave up. I offered to teach her about measuring for gauge, but she's on to other crafts at this point. I thought it was a shame that someone who needs a hat didn't have one.

Wishing you a wonderful holiday!
